This year’s iaa from 13. To 23. Matthias wissmann, president of the german association of the automotive industry (vda), said that this year’s iaa, which runs from september 13 to 23, will feature a large number of new and fuel-efficient models, proving that the automotive industry is "aggressively taking up the challenge of climate protection.". The trade show will show that there is a wide range of concepts and solutions for reducing emissions. But it is not only alternative drives and the further development of the existing drive systems to reduce consumption that are the topics, but also new safety and comfort elements.
The iaa will also show that german automotive companies need not shy away from competition in these matters, but have attractive offers for more efficient vehicles, he said. In this context, wissmann referred to the environmental ranking of the british ministry of the environment, in which german cars scored very well.
Two weeks before the start of the iaa, 1046 exhibitors had already registered, which means that the number of 2005 has already been exceeded. According to wissmann, the automobile manufacturers alone are presenting 128 innovations – including 88 world premieres, 46 of them from german manufacturers. 515 supplier companies were also represented, an increase of 54 companies – which indicates that the contribution of suppliers to modern automotive technology has continued to grow.
